Kipness Law Firm Dallas Texas Personal Injury – Wrongful Death Blog Post

Beginning September 1, 2009, the following new road rules take affect:

(1) All occupants of vehicles, including adults, must wear a seat belt.  Violation of this law is a fine up to $200.  This law was put into place to protect all occupants from personal injuries or wrongful death when they are involved in Dallas, Texas auto accidents, drunk driver accidents, car accidents, or truck accidents.

(2) Any child younger than 8, unless they are taller than 57 inches, must be in a child car seat.  Warning tickets with no fines will be issued until June 1, 2010.  After this date, the fine amount will be $25 per violation.   This law was enacted to prevent children from sustaining Dallas, Texas  personal injuries or being a victim of wrongful death in auto accidents, car accidents, drunk driver accidents, or truck accidents.

(3) No one under 18 can use a cellphone while driving a car.  No one, of any age, can use a cell phone while driving in a school zone, unless it is an emergency call or the cell phone is used on a hands free device.  Fines will be up to $200.  This law was created to protect families from child injuries and having their children become victim of wrongful death in Dallas, Texas due to car accidents, auto accidents, or truck accidents.

(4) People who drive without auto liability insurance for auto and car accidents or drive with a suspended liscense can receive up to 180 days in jail and fines up to $2000.  If someone causes a personal injury or wrongful death while driving without auto insurance for car accidents or driving with a suspended liscense, they could receive a year in jail or maximum fine of $4000.  Hopefully, this law will require people to purchase adequate auto insurance to cover personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from auto accidents, drunk driver accidents, car accidents, or truck accidents in Dallas, Texas.

(5) For people younger than 18, a driving skills test will be mandatory.  Also, for the first year after receiving a liscense, a person younger than 18 cannot drive from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. or drive with a passenger  younger than 21 unless it is a relative.   Hopefully, this law will prevent teenagers from causing auto accidents, car accidents, drunk driver accidents or truck accidents in Dallas, Texas that result in personal injuries and wrongful death.

(6) No passengers under the age of 5 can ride on a motorcycle.  Also, in order to get a motorcycle liscense, one must show proof he or she took a training course.  Violations of these laws can result in fines up to $200.    This will hopefully reduce motorcycle accidents that cause personal injuries and wrongful death in Dallas, Texas.
